Is this game compatible with TADS web play? For purely selfish reasons, I would like to be able to run it in something other than Gargoyle.

It would have to be compiled for web play, which the current version has not been. When I get a chance, I’ll see if it’s an easy port.
If your reasons have to do with Gargoyle in particular, the game will play with other browser-based interpreters, such as Parchment.
